Hello and welcome to my photography web site.

This site is intended to convey an idea of the scope and quality of my work – I hope you enjoy browsing the images, but the section below is just words ‘about me’.

Starting photography
I am a UK resident, living in the Crewe and Nantwich area of England.
After leaving school I started following Motocross racing in UK and Europe and began to take photographs (prints) of the racing as I went.
In 1994 I joined Nantwich Camera Club and began using slide film and taking landscapes as I walked in the mountains. Since joining the club the scope of my work has broadened, the galleries on this site represent my current work.

Club photography
I have enjoyed some success in UK club photography, since joining Nantwich Camera Club, to date I have won:

Print photographer of the year 7 times
Slide photographer of the year 6 times
Club photographer of the year 8 times

These awards are made based on the results of 5 competitions each for slides and prints, marks being awarded by independent judges. The Club photographer award being based on the total marks for all 10 competitions.

Wider success
In addition to the local club success I have entered the annual Lancashire and Cheshire Photographic Union (L&CPU) competitions and won several certificates of merit and had my work selected to represent the L&CPU in the national Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) competitions.
I have had my work selected to be shown in national and international exhibitions including:

Scottish Salon
Smethick International Exhibition
Paisley Salon
Wirral Open Exhibition

In 2003 I was awarded a credit by the PAGB giving me the privilege of using the post nominal ‘CPAGB’. Also in 2003 I began the change from film based to digital photography, for several years my work has been exclusively digital.

Commercial Photography
In 2003 I began part time commercial work, both in the studio and on location. See examples in the projects section of the site. Clients have included:

Work now includes Products, Calendar, Portrait and Glamour. I am also now offering a Website design service.

Future work
I intend to continue with club photography including creative monochrome work, I wish to develop my commercial work further.
